Recent media attention pertaining to sanitation practices within our industry had uncovered an issue that the Cosmetology Industry Association of British Columbia feel it necessary to address. To renew public confidence and a high level of health standards in our industry in the Province of British Columbia, the CIABC is spearheading a coordinated union of all stake holders including CIABC, the Ministry of Health and local Health Authorities to raise the standard and awareness of health, safety and sanitation practices within the Cosmetology industry. The result of this focus is the attached document titled 'Health and Safety Practices' which will be used as a guideline to the progression of a new program called 'BeautySafe'. This future program will be designed to certify individuals and salons in a recognized course on maintaining your salon, staff and clients in a 'BeautySafe' environment.
